Australian Idol falls to his death

Former Australian Idol contestant Levi Kereama has died after falling from the balcony of his hotel room in Brisbane, however news reports say that police are not treating the death as suspicious.

Kereama was was a Top 12 contestant during the first season of Australian Idol in 2003. He was the fourth of the 12 to be eliminated but used the show as a platform to launch his family band Lethbridge.

His death came just hours after performing with Lethbridge at Brisbane's Parklife Festival.

Kereama was reportedly suffering from depression.
