Rhys Darby to front 2degrees ad campaign

Kiwi comedian Rhys Darby will front the advertising campaign for new mobile phone network 2degrees.

The 2degrees advertisements will begin screening across all TV channels from this Sunday evening, and will initially focus on the "personality and values" of the brand. Specific product information will be revealed in the ads as they move closer to the August launch date.

2degrees staff were given a special preview of the television ads on Thursday night, but so far nothing further than the Flight of the Conchords star's involvement has been revealed about the ad campaign.

"Expect the unexpected. We're not going to win any customers by doing what the competition do in any sense of the marketing mix," said 2degrees marketing manager Larrie Moore.
