One News has recorded it's 10th month of growth after the AGB Nielsen ratings show the bulletin receiving an average nightly audience of 691,500 people aged 5+ during August.The figures show 3 News received an average of 371,400 viewers during the same month period.
Compared with August of 2007, audience numbers for One News have increased by 96,200, and this is clearly as a direct result of the Beijing Olympic games - a fact that even TVNZ themselves have admitted.
It will be interesting to see how the audience numbers change now that the Olympics are over, and whether or not the arrival of a new look for 3 News will also have an impact.
