Breaking news in the blogs

The last thing I expected to come out of this assignment was to have my blog referenced to on the front page of the NZ Herald!
I guess it really does show the growing place of blogs in society; that they can often beat the mainstream media to break news.

Indeed, and it also shows how information circulates.

Any word yet from Bebo about what went down?

Well they didn't reply to me, only their comment in the Herald that it was "a shortlived and isolated incident ... [that] was tackled immediately by our experienced engineering team."

I don't call an entire DAY "shortlived" tbh, and although they may consider New Zealand to be isolated - it is the most popular social networking site in NZ, so within our country it is kind of a big deal.

the blogging community has noted the story, and they find it rather shocking as well.

I swear, watching this unfold is awesome. I need popcorn or something!
